Wright County continuing to grow
In recent years, Wright County has been the fastest growing county in the state of Minnesota. With 2023 coming to an end, City Councils and the County Board are accommodating for that growth and continued growth when planning projects and their budgets.
There are a variety of reasons that Wright County could be seeing so much growth. One reason is the commute to the metro area. It’s not terribly far to Minneapolis or St. Paul, but far enough where you can get out of the cities.
Many people are moving out of the cities and metro area for a variety of reasons. For example, according to crime reports, overall crime in Minneapolis is 137.8% higher than the state average. An unfortunate statistic, but this could be one reason we are seeing more and more people moving to Wright County. According to reports, the Wright County crime rate is lower than the state average and United States average.
Many cities in Wright County are also building new developments and/or apartments. These new additions provide more places for people to live within our community. For families or individuals searching for places to live, new builds are appealing to many.
There have also been new businesses and restaurants in our communities, and more to come. This could also be a driving factor for people to move here.
Wright County is also appealing because of the small town feel in many of the cities and townships within the county. There are still many things to do and places to go, while enjoying a more rural compared to other suburban areas in the state.
While I don’t have children yet, I have heard many great things about multiple schools in Wright County. Families looking for good school districts may consider moving to our county as well.
Whatever the reason, many people are finding reasons to call Wright County home, and it seems each year we continue to grow more.
