Caroline Carmichael, 89
Caroline Bertha Carmichael, age 89, of New Ulm, died on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor Jeffrey Bovee will officiate, and burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, at the church prior to the service.

Caroline is survived by her daughter, Charis (Andrew Braun) Carmichael Braun, of New York; her son, Grant (Lisa) Carmichael, of Eagan; her grandchildren, Paul, James, and Emma; and her sisters-in-law, Beverly Carmichael, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Lucille Wessel, of New Ulm, Charlene (Roger) Miedtke, of Fairmont, Kay (Jerry) Yanz, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jo Carmichael, of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Carmichael in 2020; and her daughter, Christine Carmichael in 2015; her brothers-in-law, Rev. Erling Carmichael, Howard Wessel, and Charles Carmichael.
Caroline Bertha Templin was born June 26, 1935, in Buffalo, Minnesota, to Harold and Ernestine (Hohl) Templin.
Samuel Holt, 78
Samuel L. Holt, age 78, of Maple Lake, died suddenly on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Buffalo Hospital.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake with Pastor Jeff Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Lake Community Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake.
Samuel Lee Holt was born on January 17, 1946, in Watertown, SD, to Seward and Katherine (Vail) Holt. He grew up in Clear Lake, SD, was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake, and graduated with the Class of 1964 from Clear Lake High School. On May 5, 1973, he was united in marriage to Eunice Borstad at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, MN. In 1977, they made their home in Maple Lake where they raised their two daughters.
Sam found enjoyment in the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, and cherished moments spent with his family. His greatest joy was to hit the open road on his motorcycle or car. He had a knack for exploring the countryside and finding new unique roads to travel.
His dedication was evident in his work as an heavy equipment operator, a profession he excelled in. Sam was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49, where he shared his expertise and camaraderie with his colleagues.
Sam’s commitment to his community extended beyond his profession, as he was also an active member of the Maple Lake Lions Club. He will be remembered for his kind and compassionate nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He leaves behind a legacy as a loving husband, caring dad, and wonderful grandpa.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice; daughters, Elizabeth (Dan) Mazzuco, of Buffalo, and Shelley (Mike) Lindenfelser, of Waverly; five grandchildren, Matthew and Tommy Lindenfelser, Jace, Kadyn, and Zach Mazzuco; sisters and brother, Mary Kay (Jim) Ashbaugh, of Harleysville, PA, John (Kathy) Holt, of Desert Springs, CA, and Suzanne (Tom) Ryan, of Tampa, FL; and many other relatives and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Peter; and nephew, Brian.
The urn bearers will be Dan, Jace and Kadyn Mazzuco, Mike, Matthew, and Tommy Lindenfelser.

Jacquelyn Johnson, 87
Jacquelyn Ella Johnson (nee Kreidler), age 87, and formerly of Rockford and Paynesville, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
She was born in St. Cloud on February 2, 1937, the daughter of Anthony and Gladys (Larsen) Kreidler.
She was married to Lawrence N. Johnson in 1957. God blessed their marriage with three sons. Lawrence Johnson preceded his wife in death in December of 2022.
Jacquelyn enjoyed flowers, dogs, fishing, taking bus trips, and belonging to The Lioness Club.
She is survived by her sons, James L. (Joan) Johnson, of Shakopee, and Jerome A. Johnson, of Pemberton; grandchildren, Garrett Johnson, Erin Czech, and Kerri Metz; great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary, Doug, and Chuck Kreidler; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Jacquelyn was preceded in death by son, Jay Johnson, and by her parents.
Funeral Services for Jacquelyn E. Johnson will be held at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo on Thursday, September 26 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Luke Schmidt will officiate.
Interment follows at The Kreidler Cemetery in Montrose.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 26, one hour prior to services.

Douglas Allen Ouverson, 80, of Buffalo, MN, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024. Funeral services will be held at Buffalo Covenant Church on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., with visitation prior at 1:00 p.m. Reception and cemetery interment to follow.
