Allan Mobley, 53

Allan Robert Mobley, age 53, of Buffalo, MN, passed away at his residence on April 22, 2024.

Allan was born the son of Robert and Mary Lou (VanNurden) Mobley on August 24, 1970, in Buffalo, MN.

He attended school in Buffalo until his Buffalo High School graduation in 1988. Allan was united in marriage to Natalie (Olejar) on October 21, 1994, in Buffalo, MN. Buffalo was where Al had grown up, and this is where Natalie and he raised their two sons, Robert and Alex.

Al worked at NW Asphalt, was co-owner of AWS and currently had been working at Ramsey Construction.

Al loved to travel and spend time with Natalie traveling to numerous places. Whether he was at the casinos in Las Vegas, going on a cruise or at his favorite location, Mazatlan, Al always enjoyed the time together.

Allan loved spending time on Pulaski Lake with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for the sloooow rides on the pontoon around the lake.

Allan is survived by his wife, Natalie; sons, Robert Mobley and Alex Mobley; parents, Robert and Mary Lou Mobley; siblings, Charlene Seaman and Sheila (Dave) Crawford; mother-in-law, Ramona Olejar-Boke; sisters-in-law, Stacy Olejar, Andrea (Brian) Eggert and Janine (Shawn) Reddington; also, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his twin sister, Andrea Cottew; brother-in-law, Rob Seaman; nephew, Nate Cottew.

Mass of Christian Burial for Allan will be held Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., until the time of service at Church of St. Francis Xavier in Buffalo, MN.

Celebrant will be Father Nathaniel Meyers.

Reception to immediately follow the service at the church.

Private family interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Arrangements were entrusted to The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN.

 


Dennis Olson, 70

Dennis Duane Olson was born on July 8, 1953, in Virginia, MN, to Gordon Olson and Dorothy Nelson. He was a hardworking and outspoken man with a great sense of humor and adventure. Dennis was a jack of all trades and excelled in anything he set out to do.

After serving in the Navy for four-and-a-half years, Dennis worked as a union sheet metal worker and advanced in his profession. He was also involved in fishing tournaments and even invented his own lure. Dennis had a strong love for fishing, hunting, building, remodeling, and working on things. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking them on road trips. Making jigs (lures) was one of his favorite hobbies.

Dennis had a passion for cooking and was known for his culinary skills. He particularly loved crab legs, pickled and fresh-fried fish, homemade bread, and homemade cheesecake. He also had a fondness for old country music and admired artists like LeAnn Rimes and Shania Twain.

Despite facing challenges in life, including breaking his neck in three places after falling out of a deer stand, Dennis proved to be indestructible. Against all odds, he walked again and became the strongest man ever known. He was a true testament to resilience and determination.

Above all, Dennis’s greatest joy came from his family and grandchildren. He was united in marriage to Diane Geurtz on February 17, 1979. They were blessed with 45 years of marriage and raised their three children together.

Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and humor. He impacted the lives of those around him with his stories and adventures, sharing his knowledge and experience. He was a proud VA veteran and had a strong faith as a Lutheran.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Jeremiah (Sam) Olson, of Waverly, Steven (Claudia) Olson, of Hutchinson, Tami (Craig) Harding, of Montrose; grandchildren, Jaden, Ava, Katlyn and Christopher Olson, Troy, Isaac and Sarah Olson and Emma Olson; brothers, Dillion (Josie) Olson, of Clear Lake, IA, Donald (Joey) Olson, of Ham Lake, MN, and Wade (Susie) Pederson, of Sleepy Eye, MN; many nieces and nephews; as well as his extended family and friends. His presence will forever be cherished, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Dennis Duane Olson is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Olson and Dorothy Pederson. Also, his stepfather, Wally Pederson; and sister-in-law, Connie Olson.

Funeral service for Dennis was held Monday, April 29, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation at 4:00 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN.

 Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area #2 was on Tuesday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m.

Arrangements were entrusted to The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN.

 


Judith Schuster, 82

Judith Annette Schuster, of Buffalo, Minnesota, passed away peacefully into the arms of her dear Savior on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at home in the presence of her loved ones.

Judith was born on March 6, 1942, at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the oldest daughter of Harold and Vivian Thompson. She spent her childhood years residing in their home in Buffalo, Minnesota. By God’s grace, she received Jesus as her Lord and Savior and enjoyed many years of walking with him through various trials and joys. From a young age, her adventurous, musical, and artistic spirit was evident. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to Wayne Nelson on May 20, 1961. Out of this union, three daughters were born. Together, they raised their daughters, Laurie, Diane, and Kathryn, building countless memories taking care of animals on their hobby farm, gardening, hunting, fishing, and camping. Judith loved to share her musical gifts with others and, as a family, they ministered at churches and nursing homes.

After the untimely passing of her husband, Wayne, she met and later married Edwin Schuster on September 17, 1988. Utilizing her creative gifts, she worked as an activity director for a local nursing home and assisted living. She passionately poured into the lives of the residents she worked with. She loved to share her gift of creative writing with others, later authoring a book series. It was at this time that Judith became a grandmother, known to all as Bama. As a lover of life and new experiences, it gave her joy in creating memories and spending quality time with her grandchildren and later great-grandchildren.

Judith cared deeply for those around her and spent countless hours praying with and for her family and friends. She made a lasting impact on the lives of her family, friends, and anyone she met with her huge smile, hugs, and effervescent joy. She loved her Savior and desired that all would come to know and experience the sweetness of walking with Jesus. She will be forever missed until we meet again.

Judith is survived by her daughters, Laurie (John) Fields, Diane (Roger) Ruhr, Kathryn (Fritz) Voss; her grandchildren, Anna (Donald) Linnemeyer, Melissa (Brian) Bocan, Michael (Megan) Fields, Jennifer (Steven) Freund, Kristin (Jon) Schottler, Sandra (Luke) Fung, Stephen (Amanda) Ruhr, Wayne (Taylor) Voss, Matthew (Abby) Ruhr, Mark (Lauren) Voss, Katya Fields, Marie (Christian) Hunt, Benjamin (Olivia) Ruhr, Danielle Ruhr; great-grandchildren, Aiden Linnemeyer, Penny Fields, Isla Schottler, Daniel Fields, Reyna Fields, Madie Linnemeyer, Jaxon Voss, Bryonie Schottler, Carson Voss, Joshua Bocan, Brooklyn Hunt, Peyton Ruhr, Elianna Bocan, McKenna Ruhr, Micah Bocan, Emily Fung, Joseph Hunt, Lewis Ruhr, Makaiah Voss; sister, Janice (Fred) Naaktgeboren; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Vivian Thompson; husbands, Wayne Nelson and Edwin Schuster; and granddaughters, Nicole Voss and Jayla Fields.

Funeral service for Judith Schuster took place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Buffalo Covenant Church in Buffalo, Minnesota. 

Steven Freund and Pastor Reid Gilbert officiated. Jan Naaktgeboren was the Pianist for the funeral service.

The visitation was on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at the Buffalo Covenant Church. 

Interment followed the service at the Swedish Mission Cemetery in Buffalo, Minnesota. 

Casket Bearers were her grandsons, Michael Fields, Stephen Ruhr, Wayne Voss, Matthew Ruhr, Mark Voss, and Benjamin Ruhr.

Arrangements were entrusted to The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN.

 


Jeannine Young, 95

Jeannine Young, of Buffalo, MN, December 16, 1928 – April 28, 2024.

Preceded in death by her parents, William M. Young and Hazel L. Young (nee Williams) and her brother, William Young. She leaves behind her four children, Thomas N. Frenzel (Kathleen), William W. Frenzel (Bonnie), Bradley J. Frenzel, Joyce Randall Senechal (Alan); her grandchildren, Jason, Nick, Scott, John, Nicole, Jennifer, Joshua, Josef, Kelly, Alex, Megan; along with 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.   

Jeannine was born in Chicago and grew up in Oak Lawn, IL. She and husband, Thomas Frenzel raised their four children in early Park Forest, IL. She fondly remembered her childhood summers spent in small-town, Brooklyn, IN, with her grandparents and cousins. 

For many years, Jeannine was a print and runway model. She enjoyed acting and appeared in many plays and TV commercials. She also did voiceover work for M&M Mars and narrated children’s audio books. Among her many plays, she was Miss Daisy in a dinner theater production of Driving Miss Daisy.   

When she wasn’t acting or modeling, she worked in the restaurant business starting as a waitress and ascended to Sales and Catering Manager for McCormick Place in Chicago. 

Education was important to Jeannine as she earned her G.E.D. at 74 and went on to take college art courses at Kankakee Community College. She explored many genres of art and was a very talented painter and illustrator. 

She loved her home in Momence, IL, on the banks of the Kankakee River, where she lived for many of her later years.  

Anyone who knew Jeannine, loved her charm, sense of humor and wonderful stories. She was easy-going and fun to be around.  A country gal at heart.  

 Special appreciation goes to the caring staff at The Glenn Buffalo Memory Care and Brighton Hospice. 

Jeannine will be interred in a private ceremony in Brooklyn, Indiana.
