Impact Christian Academy preparing to open Sept. 2022

Mary Blosser speaks about plans for the new Christian school at Buffalo Covenant Church on Nov. 1

A community forum was held on Nov. 1 at Buffalo Covenant Church to talk about the new Evangelical Christian school coming to Buffalo. The school will open its doors in early September of 2022. The school will be available to grades kindergarten through eighth grade with plans to add high school in the future. Buffalo Covenant Church will be hosting Impact Christian Academy (ICA) to start.

Tuition has not been finalized at this point, but the target is $6,000 per student per year. ICA plans to offer flexible payment plans, final costs will be determined by Jan. 1. A scholarship fund has been started; families can apply for scholarships at the time of their application. Families can also apply for financial assistance through the Child Tax Credit.

Students from anywhere in the area can apply to the school. For kindergarten through fifth grade, there will be a maximum of 12 students per class. For grades six through eight, the maximum will be up to 15 students.

Curriculum is in the process of being finalized. A solid Christian curriculum will be chosen. Subjects taught will include math, reading, science, history, geography, spelling, writing, and English. Extra-curricular classes will be offered as well, such as art, music, and physical education. Teachers have not been identified yet, but ICA’s goal is to provide high-quality and experienced teachers.

ICA’s mission statement is as follows: “Our mission is to partner with parents in order to train students to be lifelong learners and equip them with knowledge and wisdom that will prepare them with a solid faith foundation to serve God and their community.” Biblical principles will be in place at ICA with an emphasis on commitment to the truth of Scripture and the importance of learning with a Biblical point of view.

ICA is still discussing and determining many aspects and making final decisions on some topics. If you have more questions or want more information, contact ICA at im pactchristianacademy.mn@gmail.com.
