Antique automobiles roll into Buffalo

Non-profit fosters appreciation of the beauty, endurance of vintage cars

Antique cars rolled into the parking lot at Buffalo High School on Saturday, Aug. 14 as their drivers took a pit-stop along the 120-mile tour across Minnesota’s countryside.

   The Antique Car Run celebrated its 35th anniversary this year, and 50 vintage automobiles were included in the event, which began Wednesday, Aug. 11 and ran through Sunday, Aug. 15.

   Ages of the automobiles ranged from 1902 to 1912, and their drivers came from all over the country, with some travelling from as far away as Texas and New Jersey.

   Buffalo was the fourth stop along the route, with lunch provided by the Wright County Car Club. The run began early that morning in New London, and finished in the evening in New Brighton.

   Spectators enjoyed an afternoon of viewing antique cars and talking to their owners about their history. Next year’s 36th Annual Antique Car Run is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022.
