Kurt Lovold, 58

Kurt David Lovold, age 58, of Buffalo, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of September 15, 2022, at home with his wife and family.

Kurt was born in Fort Bragg, NC, on October 28, 1963, the son of Dr. Dean Lovold and Joanne (Hagen) Lovold

Kurt and his family grew up in Willmar on Long Lake, and he enjoyed playing the trumpet, the piano, boating, swimming, water skiing, playing tennis, and working on cars. His memories were made alongside cousins, siblings, parents and friends.

Kurt attended grade school and high school in Willmar, MN. He then attended St. Cloud State, Ridgewater Community College, and Hutchinson Technical College. His schooling began with his passions of auto body and restored his first car, a Studebaker. His favorite memory of this car by his sister, Janel, was getting to drive the car once, but to also ride along with Kurt through town. Kurt knew just what windows of local businesses to drive by to get the best reflection of his car, from all angles. His current project has been restoring a 1929 Ford Model A with his father-in-law, Shaddie.

Later, he studied non-destructive testing, which took him around the country and into California working for GE, and eventually back to Minnesota. He worked as a Quality Inspector, and IT Specialist for Kurt Manufacturing, overnights in inventory/allocation for Walmart, and, most recently, as a driver for Nordstrom Metal, in Rockford.

Kurt continued to grow his family when he married Amy (Holman) on October 23, 1999. Together with their children, Zach (35), Lauren (22), and twins, Ella and Oliver (18) created a foundation on which to build family memories and a legacy of pure goodness, unconditional love, friendship, and parenthood.

Together, they enjoyed concerts, collecting vinyl records, movie nights, swimming, boating, skiing, tubing, camping, family trips, including favorites of his, a trip to Washington with Zach, and South Dakota with Amy, Lauren, Ella, and Oliver.

Kurt was a stay-at-home dad for years, and was truly the best friend to his wife, and four children. He was impactful to everyone he met and was instantly your friend.

Kurt is survived by his wife, Amy (nee’ Holman), of Buffalo, MN; son, Zach (Breiha), of Buffalo, MN; daughter, Lauren, of Annandale, MN; twins, Ella and Oliver, of Buffalo, MN; mother, Joanne Lovold; brother, Craig (Linda), of Spicer, MN; sister, Janel (Brent) Schuenke, of Willmar, MN; nieces and nephews, Austin, Sydney, Reese, Rachael, and Ilexa; cousins and friends.

Funeral service for Kurt will be held Saturday, September 24, at 12:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., all at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN. Private family interment at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN. Online condolences for the family can be directed to www.thepetersonchapel.com.

Wesley Puffer, 56

Wesley Floyd Puffer, age 56, of Buffalo, passed away on September 18, 2022.

Wesley Floyd Puffer was born on January 6, 1966, in Buffalo, MN. His loving parents, Richard (Dick) and Mary Puffer, welcomed him home to meet his older brother, Seth, and his sisters, Brenda and Susie.

Wes married the love of his life, Julie Dalton on May 24, 1986, at St. Francis Xavier in Buffalo, MN.

Together, they built a beautiful life and family with their three children, Andrew, Krystle, and Brandon, along with their five precious grandchildren, Grayson, Cord, Cris, Shakayla, and Shaden, all of whom Papa adored.

Julie and Wes are lifelong residents of Buffalo, and even shared childhood neighborhoods.

It seems there was never a Wes without Julie, or a Julie without Wes.

Those who knew and loved Wes were always prepared for his trademark one-liners, and sarcastic banter, which was the way he showed his endearment to others.

You could always find Wes tending to his yard or eager to lend a helping hand in his garage. If it needed fixing, Wes was your man.

Wes was a dedicated and committed truck driver for 36 years. He loved the time in his truck, and the connections he made with his coworkers and customers.

His family will love and miss him forever!

Wes is survived by his wife, Julie of 36 years; his children, Andy (Anj), Krystle (Shadell) and Brandon; his five grandchildren; his brother, Seth (Susan); and sister, Brenda; his aunt, Margie Puffer; and uncle Dwayne (Delores)Puffer; mother-in-law, Kay Dalton; brothers-in-law, Tim Dalton (Tina) and Dan Dalton (Joan); sister-in- law, Laurie Tweten (Cam); along with several nieces and nephews. Wes is further survived by the amazing neighborhood friends who have become part of Julie and Wes’s family.

A very special thank you goes out to the neighbors who were there on the day when we needed them most!

A Prayer Service with a time of sharing will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, MN. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Further visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
