Nancy Lambrecht, 76
Nancy Dee Lambrecht, 76, of Bowstring, MN, formerly of Buffalo, MN, joined her Heavenly Father on August 3, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her side.
As the fourth of seven children to Glenn and Vergil Wegner, Nancy grew up in a loving and boisterous home in southern MN, where she met the love of her life and lifelong partner, John Lambrecht. Nancy and John married in 1965 when she was just 17 years old and began a life of hard work, adventure through travel, and most importantly, built a large family that would be her source of joy and focus until her last breath.
Nancy was a hard worker, using her gifts of persuasive communication and problem-solving in several capacities and many jobs, most notably in customer relations and reservations at Northwest Airlines where she celebrated her first retirement after over 20 years and with Select Comfort as a top sales associate for seven out of the ten years until her second retirement. Nancy loved people and making connections, and that showed through in every role she served, whether as a volunteer at church or civic duties working at Rockford Township on election night. She also loved traveling with her Johnny Angel throughout their lives and into retirement where they hopped into their RV with Peaches the dog at their side to Arizona and Alaska, most notably. Of course, they made new friends and visited old friends and family along the path, making them the focus of her stories, more than scenery or sites. She loved people and entertaining at her home or on the road. She lived by the motto “the more the merrier” and knew all you had to do to bring a crowd was to feed them, and she loved gathering people together.
Nancy was creative, enjoying crafting in many modes throughout her life. She always created with her hands, using her often nearby sewing machine. Nancy enjoyed making gifts for her grandchildren and strangers. She also surrounded herself with music, laughter, and joy through humor as often as possible, even on her last day with us.
Nancy is survived by her life partner of 59 married years, John Lambrecht, as well as their six living children, 23 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a multitude of extended family and friends who loved her deeply. Children are Pam Johnson (Don), of Farmington, MN, Lorraine Lambrecht, of Buffalo, MN, Tim Lambrecht (Natalie), of Medina, MN, Sandra (Chris) Nelson, of Princeton, MN, Mike Lambrecht (Corrie), of Maple Lake, MN, Melissa Mack (Dave), of Balsam Lake, WI, and Sarah (Joe) Johnson, of Shell Lake, WI; siblings are Marion Wegner (sister-in-law), of Rochester, MN, Bonnie (Duane) Wingness, of Harmony, MN, Jon (Diana), of Powell, OH, Susan Anderson, of University Park, FL, Debra (James) Elder, of Plymouth, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Vergil Wegner; mother and father-in-law, Reuben and Florence Lambrecht; brother, Wayne Wegner; and sister, Pat Johnson; brother-in-law, Steve Lambrecht; son, Scott Lambrecht; and baby girl, Lambrecht.
Celebrations of Nancy’s life will be held with a reviewal on Friday, August 16, from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson Chapel in Buffalo MN, Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, August 17, service at 11:00 a.m. and visitation one hour prior and refreshments afterward at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN, and internment on Sunday, August 18, at 2 p.m. in Viola, MN.
