Community Strong Butterflies

As found on the Community Strong – Buffalo MN page on facebook – posted by Sue Davies

Hey friends and neighbors!

How are you feeling right now? I am having a hard time dealing with the current shelter in place order… maybe you are too! We miss our friends, neighbors, teachers, shop owners, and many other important people in our community. Although we must stay safe and continue to keep our distance from each other for a while longer, we can share a sense of HOPE with others through art making. Please join in a community wish for HOPE!

In many cultures throughout the world, the BUTTERFLY has been a symbol of HOPE and anticipation of Spring. We know the current situation will not last forever and we can focus on the good things to come! HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN DO to join your community’s wish for HOPE!:

CREATE a butterfly from whatever paper (or other materials) you have around. Color it

in whatever colors bring you joy!

ADD A WISH or a poem about HOPE for your family or friends to the butterfly.

CUT IT OUT (feel free to use your scraps for baby butterflies or fun details)

Add your own antennas/legs/other elements- BE CREATIVE- HAVE FUN!

ATTACH IT OR HANG IT IN A WINDOW where friends and neighbors can see it

Spread the joy by making LOTS OF BUTTERFLIES… BIG ONES, LITTLE

ONES!

FILL your windows! If you own a shop or work at school- PLEASE fill those

windows too (we love our town)!

BE CREATIVE- HAVE FUN AND SHARE THIS MESSAGE WITH FRIENDS

AND ON SOCIAL MEDIA
