Plaisted, explorer and hunting camp host

In 1988, the McDonald Clan, as they call themselves, stayed at Ralph Plaisted's hunting shack near Kerrick, Minnesota. Ralph Plaisted and his expedition to the North Pole was the subject of last week's feature story, and the McDonald men were reminded of their time with Plaisted. Above are, from left, John Borer, Ewan (Jake) McDonald, Steve Borer, Tim McDonald, Michael McDonald, Ed Joe McDonald, Bill McDonald, and Flip McDonald. The Borers' mother is a McDonald. Plaisted took this photo. (Photo courtesy of Steve Borer)

After a day of deer hunting and enjoying the feast Ralph Plaisted prepared for supper, Mike McDonald and Ed Joe McDonald sit down for a hand of cards. After thirty years, the McDonald men still remember the great time they had back in 1988 when they rented Plaisted's hunting camp near Kerrick, Minnesota. (Photo courtesy of Steve Borer)
